Sacred Heart College is one of New Zealand's leading Catholic boys' school, with more than 100 years of Marist tradition that upholds the values of our founder, St Marcellin Champagnat.

We offer International Students an outstanding education, in a superb location. Set on 22 hectares of park-like grounds and located in a peaceful suburb just 20 minutes from the centre of New Zealand's biggest city, Auckland, its facilities include a state of the art technology block, three heated swimming pools, a large gymnasium, modern computer laboratories and a comprehensive library.

The College has a roll of 1200 students from Years 7 to 13 including 160 boarders who live in the College Hostel on site. Emphasis is placed on providing each student with an education that encompasses academic, spiritual, social and physical achievement in order to prepare him to face a changing and complex world.

NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3 pass rates are consistently among the highest nationally for boys schools and many of the College Old Boys are numbered among New Zealand’s top musicians, academics, artists, sportsmen and religious or civil leaders.

The College is a signatory of the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students and takes the welfare of students very seriously. Our average number of Internationals each year is 35 and they come from a variety of different countries. As our numbers are small, the students find they are readily integrated into College life. 

English Classes

We have three fully qualified English Language Learner ( ELL) teachers who teach small groups, according to their English language learning needs.

Accommodation

International Students have the choice of living in the College Boarding Hostel or in home stay accommodation. The Hostel is the preferred option for many students as it enables them to concentrate on their studies and speak more English. However, we are able to assist with home stays if required. Students in Years 7 & 8 are enrolled at the College only if at least one parent lives in New Zealand with them full time. Hostel fees are currently NZ $9264 per year and home stay fees are NZ $230 to $245 per week.

Fees

Tuition fees are NZ$15,000 which covers all tuition and text books. There is an also an annual $500 administration fee. Personal stationery, uniform costs and exams fees are an additional cost.

Medical and Travel Insurance

All students must have full medical and travel insurance. We can assist with the purchase of this if required.
