Emphasis is placed on providing each student with an education that encompasses spiritual formation with academic, social and physical achievement in order to prepare him to face a changing and complex world.

The College gives priority to ensuring that our students are committed to achieving academically to the highest levels. The Academic Institute leads this process.

A diversity in terms of ethnicity and socio-economic background provides additional richness to College life.

With spiritual values, strong pastoral care, a wide range of cultural and sporting activities, and excellent facilities, Sacred Heart students are well prepared to meet the challenges of tertiary study or the work place. The College has one of the highest levels of school leaver placement in tertiary education or full-time employment of any secondary school in New Zealand.

The College has a rich tradition of students' success and achievement over 104 years. Old Boys have achieved and continue to achieve many distinctions in Church life, academia, the arts, sport and business.
