1st XI
The season started immediately school came back with the 1st XI playing two matches over the weekend. On Friday they matched up to perennial heavyweight, St Kentigern College. St Kents got through to 207 in their innings and SHC was dismissed for 176, 30 runs short of a win. JJ Mills batted well for 45 but needed some support at the later stages.
On Saturday the 1st XI travelled to Rangitoto where it was looking for a much needed win. Unfortunately the top order batting didn't perform and the side struggled through to 149 all out. Rangitito knocked the total off with ease losing only two wickets in the process.
2nd XI
The 2nd XI started its season against Kelston on Friday. Batting first, it got through to a respectable 203. Highlights were Joe Bolton 51 and Cam Lynch 43. All the bowlers struggled as Kelston easily overtook our total for the loss of five wickets.
On Saturday, the 2nd XI travelled out west to play Liston. Batting first, SHC got through to 207 with Cam Lynch again in the runs with 58, ably supported by captain Conrad Ulrich with a quick fire 40 at the end.
Liston nearly took the game away early with some positive batting but our bowlers were patient and wickets eventually started to fall. Liston was dismissed in the 48th over for 194 for the 2nd XI to record a well deserved win. Bowling highlights included Anthony Quinn 4-25, Conrad Ulrich 2-25 and Xavier Lardner 2-36.
Colts
The Colts side started its season at home with a two-day game against St Peters. SHC scored 160 in the first innings and St Peters was 20 without loss.
