Endeavour Scholarship

The Endeavour Scholarship Programme was launched by the Governor-General of New Zealand in October 2001. The programme is open to Maori and Pasifika Catholic boys for intake at Year 7 or Year 9, and is designed for students who display leadership potential, academic ability and participate in cultural activities.

Students must be of Maori or Pasifika descent.

Students must show strong leadership attributes, hold leadership roles and/or have supporting reference documentation.

Students should be actively participating in their culture and be able to share their skills and knowledge with the wider Sacred Heart College community.

The scholarship provides opportunities for up to four boys each year to receive an education at Sacred Heart College for their remaining school years.

This is a scholarship for families in need of financial assistance which includes financial contributions, boarding fees if the student lives out of the Auckland area (from Year 9), and other compulsory school expenses.

Each year there is an annual review of the performance of the scholarship holder against attitude and commitment criteria.

The scholarship is open to prospective students. Students must be New Zealand citizens or hold New Zealand residency visas and reside in New Zealand. Students currently attending Sacred Heart College are not eligible to apply.

Applicants must have been enrolled as a full-time student at a New Zealand school for at least the last three school years.

In the event of there being no candidates, who reach a sufficiently high standard, scholarships may not be awarded.

The decision of the Headmaster is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

To apply for a Scholarship please contact our Enrolments team, as per the details below. A shortlist of boys will be contacted and requested to attend an interview with both their parents.
