Young Vinnies

The Marist Pillar of ‘Support for individuals and families in need’ is clearly reflected by the work of the Young Vinnies. When working for the Young Vinnies, our students are living out their faith in very useful ways involving fundraising and projects that provide practical support for people in need.

The Young Vinnies look to help people in our communities and worldwide, who are in genuine need. The help offered is not limited to any one thing - any type of practical help will be considered. Our work is financed through fundraising activities and donations.

Membership is open to any students who wishes to join. Regular events, where groups from other schools meet to participate in liturgies and to exchange ideas, are coordinated by the Diocese Youth Worker and a conference is held annually.

Activities can include cooking for the Foodbank, working in the community garden, peer mentoring, sausage sizzles, an annual pyjama drive, an annual Can drive, and service to those in need in the local community etc.

For more information and to join, please contact Mrs Daria Spence.
