Basketball

The growth in basketball at Sacred Heart College reflects the increase in both interest, and numbers, in the sport over the past 7 years. Recent years have seen over 270 students playing either competitively or socially for the school, with that number expected to grow consistently in years to come.

We are fortunate at Sacred Heart College to include the younger age groups (Year 7 and 8), alongside our Junior and Senior programmes (Years 9 and 10, 11 through 13) to be able to aid in developing team orientated players that are coachable, fundamentally well skilled, and team focused. We aim to provide opportunities for all who are interested to train and play each week, whether they be competitive or socially inclined, and ensure a place is available to all who wish to join a team.

Trainings and games run year-round for our Year 7 and 8 age group, while Years 9 through 13 play in Terms 2 and 3, concluding around mid-August, with a number of Secondary School Tournaments run thereafter for both Junior and Senior levels. Trainings are either before or after school, or in the weekends, at the school gymnasium. Game nights vary based on age group (see below) and played in various arenas, including the school gymnasium.
