Touch

Touch is an exciting and dynamic sport, with simple rules and a fast pace. Six players are on the field for each team at any one time where roll on/roll off substitutes can be used from squads of up to 12 players. Its non-contact, highly active focus means it is often a healthy, injury-free and inclusive sport in which to participate.

The sport has grown in popularity in recent years, both nationally and at Sacred Heart College. The College typically fields one or two squads in both the Junior and Senior grades.

The philosophy of Touch at Sacred Heart is to encourage both participation and development, coupled with the aim of having at least one high-performance, competitive squad, capable of competing at regional and national events.

Junior teams (Year 9 & 10) play in Term 4 with  teams competing  in the Eastern Zone and  wider Auckland league on Tuesday afternoons.

Senior teams (Years 9-13) play in Term 1 with teams competing in the wider Auckland league on Tuesday afternoons and National Championships.
